The Big Lebowsky and the Little Lebowsky

The Little Lebowsky is a great little little store in the Greenwich Village in New York  themed around the Cohen brothers movie "The Big Lebowsky", 1998.

The Little Lebowsky shop in the Village, NY

Despite the meager box office success, The Big Lebowsky keeps on growing his fan base and  "The Dude" has become a transgenerational icon.

The Little Lebowsky is the place where to find lots of  Dude T-shirts, costumes, cards, stickers, glasses, hoodies, etc. -
The owner dresses like the Dude, plays the movie in the store and the soudtrack is often heard coming out of the speakers. Take a picture with your face in the life size character cut outs made for the store.

It's all fun.

If you are not planning to be in NY anytime soon, you can still go on The Little Lebowsky's website and buy your t-shirt on line.

CHINESE ORIGAMI

In 2008 Leicester Square (London) was populated with 5000  paper pigeons as part of an advertising campaign produced by HSBC and agency RMG Connect

The importance of details - Origami pigeons perched on the gate

Picture taken from the HSBC Cultural Exchange Website

Unfolding the origami would reveal a discount vaucher for the exhibition  "China Design Now"  at the V&A.

RMG Connect favoured origami to clarify the common myth that the Japanese created the art of paper folding, when in fact it is an ancient Chinese art.

At Anar-chic we love to take a look at ordinary things executed in extraordinary fashion...we love it when you choose to think outside the box and "do things your own way".
